Dr Luke Baker

Lecturer in Muscle Biology

Luke completed his PhD at Loughborough University in 2018 developing cellular models of skeletal muscle wasting and using them to investigate the mechanisms of pro-resolution physiology. In 2018, he joined the Leicester Kidney Lifestyle team to work on the multi-centered study ‘Iron & Muscle’. His particular interests include understanding the role of resolution physiology in chronic disease and the role of muscle/adipose tissue cross-talk in wasting syndromes. Luke currently works at the Leicester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to support cross theme research around muscle biology in those with chronic disease.
